Hey, that's my desk!

Been knocking out product photos for Salt Cases, the 'First Thermally Protective iPhone Cases'.  I carried mine to the beach in St. Thomas, and was able to relax into my rum drinks without worrying about keeping my phone out of the sun.  So, important stuff.  Also works great on the slopes...

Executive Chef Brian Young of Post 390 in Boston takes on BF in this week's Beat Bobby Flay

Vegetarians beware, Brian is a butchery specialist.  Post 390 is an impressive eatery on Stuart Street, with an 'urban tavern' downstairs and fine dining upstairs.  Wine and beer lists are top notch, as is the charcuterie board, evidence below.

Bagpipes in My Dreams

Way back in the day I would shoot the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade every year.  A fond memory to be sure, but clocking in over 5 hours long, and with ~200K heads marching up 5th Ave, this parade would have me hearing bagpipes in my dreams for days...

The NYC parade is the oldest, and largest parade in the world.   Photo circa 2009.  Dig the sash.

Happy St. Patrick's Day peeps!

Local Brew hits Funky Bow in Lyman

Local Brew has been back in action filming episode III with Funky Bow Brewing out in the woods of Lyman, Maine. Our brew hound of a host Matt was treated to a tour of the brewery (with tastings of course), attended a foot stompin' growler fill party, and knocked back a pint or three at The Little Tap House in Portland.  Stay tuned as the episode will be premiering later this spring...

With their tribute to Jack and the Bean Stalk, Cozy Acres Greenhouses takes best in show at the Portland Flower Show.  Here are photos of all the entries (these would not be possible without the assist from my scissor lift chauffeur).

More BF

Just when you thought you had seen all your Flay for the day, turns out Brunch @ Bobby's Season IV premiers tonight at 9pm on The Cooking Channel.  Photography days were this past fall in the West Village, running with one of my very favorite crews to have ever worked with.  Warm up your Mardi Gras spirit for this one, the stiff cocktail recipe will get those inner fires burning...

Beat Bobby Flay - Karen Akunowicz @ Myers+Chang

A couple of months back I busted a move down I-95, on assignment with Food Network to photograph Karen Akunowicz at Myers+Chang in the South End of Boston.  The renowned and passionate chef spins up dishes inspired by Taiwanese soul food and South Asian street food at this bustling eatery on Washington St.  Karen hits the airwaves this Thursday on the premier of Food Network's latest cook-off, Beat Bobby Flay.  I was able to catch the sneak peak of the show last night, and must give it high praise.  The chefs, including the challengers, the judges, and Bobby himself, make the show fun, and the format and production are killer as well.  Check out a couple of pics of Karen creating one of her signature dishes, Asian inspired chicken & waffles.  Sorry if you are hungry, this is hurting me a little right now...  Road trip anyone?

Oh yes, I should mention, this show is a rare occasion where many of my stills will be used within the content of the show, mostly as we are introduced to our fearless challenger.  Fun to see a little still photography up on the old television set...      (Food Network, Thursday @ 10pm)
