Help Portrait - December 10, 2011

I was psyched to be involved with an event and movement called Help-Portrait. Here is the organization's mission statement as pulled from the website:

Help-Portrait is a community of photographers coming together across the world to use their photography skills to give back to their local community.

An amazing 644 photographer groups have been formed, and on December 10, portrait sessions were happening at cities around the globe.

Local photographer Alex Kreher organized the Portland event and it went off without a hitch thanks to his efforts, and the efforts of a number of contributors. Big thanks goes out to all involved, including the shooters, the stylists, the re-touchers, the printers, the hosts, and every volunteer that stepped up to make Help-Portrait possible.

Special thanks goes out to all the families and folks that came by and sat for portraits, this day was all about you.

MicroMainea website up

The new website is poppin' fresh and stocked with sdp images. Judy is based on beautiful Westport Island (just across the Sheepscot River from the Isle of Springs) and provides microgreens to a variety of caterers and fine dining establishments in the area.

Justin & some grown ups @ the Open Sky Fund event last Friday

This past weekend, I volunteered my photography services to The Open Sky Fund, a organization that gives musical instruments to kids. Photo is of last year's winner, guitar prodigy Justin. This year's winners took home a drum set and a flute, respectively.

Kelsey's Essentials, Season II - Coming June 25

Season II of Kelsey premiers June 25 on Cooking Channel. In preparation, the show's website has been updated with sets of new recipes and sdp photos.

Critical Mass Documentary - 'Last Friday of the Month'

Filmmaker Christopher Ryan is making a film documenting nyc's Critical Mass rides. After reading up on the depth of Chris' involvement, and the amount of footage, I will be greatly looking forward to seeing this film get made.

Chris explains the project best on his kickstarter site.

I found out about the project when Chris found a photo of mine on the Times Up! website, and contacted me hoping to use the image to promote a party at the organization's Brooklyn Space next Thursday, June 16th at 6:30.
